For the first time dfv and Anuga HORIZON award innovative food concepts

On October 9, 2023, the new media brand newFOODeconomy, dfv media group, rewards innovative food concepts from all over Europe at the Anuga trade fair in the Anuga HORIZON program. Focus is on companies, start-ups and projects that are based in the EU. Key selection criteria are the two factors "innovation" and a demonstrable contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

For the first time dfv and Anuga HORIZON award innovative food concepts

Awards are granted in three categories: In the Best Newcomer category, the prize goes to a start-up that must be less than five years old and is already active in the market with products or services. In the Best Evolutioner category, the award goes to an established existing company that has entered the new food market and established successful products there. In the category Best Visionary the award is granted a promising idea or approach in the form of a product or service. An existence on the market is not a prerequisite but a prototype exists.

The nominations and the award winners are determined by the nine-member advisory board of newFOODeconomy. newFOODeconomy is the journalistic initiative of the publishing division of the agricultural, baking and meat media of the Frankfurt Seite 2 von 4 business media house. The committee, staffed with prominent experts of the food industry, consists of: Olaf Deininger, Author and Editor in Chief Agricultural Media, NEWMEAT and newFOODeconomy at dfv media group. Nadine Filko, Author and editor in the new FOOD economy division at dfv media group. Borris Förster, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Amathaon Capital. Dr. Simone K. Frey, Founder and managing director of the platform NUTRITION HUB. Dr. Carsten Gerhardt, Partner at Kearney, founder of the Circular Valley Foundation and sustainability expert

Prof. Dr. Carolyn Hutter, Professor and Head of the Business Administration-Food Program Management at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University. Hanni Rützler, the leading food trend researcher in Europe and founder of futurefoodstudio. Christian Schnücke, Publishing Director Agricultural, Baking and Meat Media at dfv media group. Fabio Ziemßen, Partner of ZINTINUS GmbH and member of the board of BALPro e. V.
